President
Kathryn “KC” Caucci
This will be KC’s 3rd year on the board. She was Newsletter Director in 2007 and President last year. KC’s biggest challenge this year is Ironman Arizona. In general, her challenge has been getting comfortable on the bike. KC is from Philadelphia and currently doesn’t own a TV.
Secretary & Legal Counsel
Denise DeTrano
This is Denise’s fourth year on the Board, her biggest tri challenge is finding time to train and battling age: “Old age is no place for sissies,” Bette Davis. Denise and her sisters can ride unicycles and were in the Sacramento Unicycle Club and rode in parades in their youth.
Treasurer
Karen Bonnett
Karen’s most challenging tri experience was the World’s Toughest Half in Auburn with the first heat wave of the year. The swim was her best ever but by the time she got to the run she was dehydrated and blister burnt. Karen loves the ultras, ultra cycling and running. She did her first 100-mile run this past year at Rio Del Lago. Cut off time was 30 hours; Karen was successful at 29:55 and even won her age group. No she was not the only one, everyone else dropped out. She was the last one standing. Karen loves a good laugh.
Membership Director & Webmaster
Frank Mantong
Frank has served on the Board for 3 years. His biggest challenge in triathlon is swimming. Frank claims that there is nothing interesting, different, or quirky about him, “I am completely normal.”
Sponsorship Director
Michelle Raynaud
This is Michelle’s first year on the Board. Her biggest triathlon challenge is swimming. In April, she couldn’t swim 25 yards and her first tri was an Olympic distance race in June. She only had one panic attack. Michelle loves to race and is hooked on triathlon! In 2007, Michelle took a break from work and traveled around the world visiting 14 countries. She has also backpacked the entire John Muir trail, 250 miles. Most importantly, she has a shoe and purse collection problem.
Newsletter Director
Stephanie Denison
This is Stephanie’s first year on the Board. Her biggest challenge in triathlon is running. In 2006, She decided to race TBF’s June Tri for Fun and struggled to run a mile when she first started running. This year she has finished 3 half-marathons and Vineman 70.3. Her first triathlon was Wildflower in 1990. She did the 25-mile “International Triathlon” (.5 mile swim, 20 mile bike, and 4.5 mile run). She was 19 years old and podiumed in her division. Her second triathlon was the old Sacramento triathlon a couple of weeks later. Her third was the Tri for Fun eighteen years later; that’s a long hiatus!
